Challenged to tropicalise a Garden Stool, our team explored different methods of shielding the seat from rain. The use of dowel construction juxtoposes the mechanical elements to visually elevate the moving parts. A sacrificial proxy connects the stool to the earth, bringing life to an otherwise unusable leftover. Ultimately, our design resembles the bloom of a flower, with a mechanically retractable seat which stays dry even during thunderstorms.
